I recently read a rather humorous post in which "bus bar" came out as "buzz bar", which I presume was probably some dumb auto-correction in an automated spell checker.ĮV-Diagnostic cables are currently SOLD OUT. This error appears throughout their literature, and it seems to even have been adopted by some old hands. Unfortunately, Evinrude does not seem to be aware of this and uses "buss" inappropriately to mean "bus", a shorthand for "bus bar", an electrical connection common point. It is no longer necessary to employ a special cable with a non-standard connector at the engine side of the cable to make the connection of the engine to the NMEA-2000 network, as was done with the previous models of E-TEC. As SEAHORSE has alluded, the connector used on the new Evinrude E-TEC 74-degree V6 engine is the standard NMEA-2000 DeviceNET Micro connector. If you read that article and take a look at the illustrations I provided in that article, you can see the new Evinrude E-TEC 74-degree V6 engine's NMEA-2000 connector, both its location and in pictorial diagram the representation as connecting directly to a standard NMEA-2000 network Tee-connector.
